Holland Lake Lodge was built in 1924 as a guest lodge. At the time it opened, it was a two-day stage coach ride from Missoula to the lodge. The main lodge burned in 1946 and was rebuilt with the current structure the following year. Power was brought into the valley in the late 50’s, and Highway 83 was paved in the early 60’s.
This property reflects authentic Montana, with charming rustic lakeside cabins, a proud main lodge circa 1947, and to-die-for food served in the dining room. Described as a small slice of heaven, this intimate getaway will give you the full Montana experience: a respite from it all with plush accommodations, stunning mountain views, a jumping point for adventure and genuine attentive service.
Christian moved to Montana in 1999 and purchased the lodge in 2002. He is actively involved in the general operation and management. In his words, "Holland Lake Lodge is a truly special place. It is my intention to restore the property, to preserve the integrity of what is here, and to share this place with all who come here. We try to rival the views with exceptional service, amazing food and an unforgettable experience."
